Story 1 Wild Horse Ride

Colin Crawford told me this story that happened when he was a little boy. He was quite sore for a while and learned to obey instructions after that!

Story 2 Bunty the Biter
Names have all been changed as Katie certainly does not want you to know who she is!

Story 3 Linda's Trick

Linda is not keen to have her identity known.

Story 6 Mysterious Fisherman

This story happened some years ago in the Solomon Islands. The story was told to me by someone who worked there for a number of years.

Story 7 Hidden Toys
This story happened to a young mother in NSW.

Story 8 Melted Butter
Mrs Conway (not her real name) took her class to Canberra every year. This story happened on one of those school excursions. Simon (not his real name either) certainly learned his lesson about honesty.

Story 9 The Savage Blizzard
This is a well-known incident of a dreadful blizzard which hit the U.S. Great Plains on January 12, 1888. There were an estimated 235 deaths and it has been classified as the world's 10th deadliest winter storm on record. There are many stories of heroism and self-sacrifice from this event, by both students and teachers. I have selected to re-write this story about a young brother's love.

Story 11 Lonely Riley
Riley and Lucia, or Lulu, live in NSW and have kindly shared this story with me. It is Riley's hope that other children will be inspired by his story and come to know Jesus as their best friend.

Story 12 Lost Papers
Mum, Tasman and India had a wonderful holiday in Borneo. The children are older now and India in particular is very grateful that God influenced the officer to stamp their papers so she could get home again!

Story 13 Boisterous Dino
Taz is still amazed at the way God answered mum's prayers and found a good home for the rascally Dino.

Story 14 Small Firemen
Robert is an adult now with children of his own. He lives in NSW with his family. He remembers the incident even though he was only young at the time.

Story 15 Broken Door
Sheree told me this story that happened when the sisters were in primary school. She got a shock when the glass pane broke and both sisters were very repentant!

Story 17 Stolen Melon
This story happened some years ago. Hugo is no longer with us but he remembers the story well and really was grateful that God stopped him from becoming a thief.

Story 18 Super Duper Cooper
Mrs Miller is now retired, and forever grateful she could help young Cooper keep his money! She worked at a private school in NSW when this story took place.

Story 19 The Last Swing
Stephen is an adult now with a child of his own and lives and works on the Gold Coast. He still has the scar from that awful fall.

Story 20 Michael was Impatient
Laura is very grateful that God was with her on that day and encouraged to know that God always answers prayer, but not always the way we envisage!

Story 21 Gone Forever
Lincoln and Maya are not keen for you to know who they are. They may get teased by their school friends!

Story 22 Sliding Down the Windscreen
You have met these two cute, rascally twins in a previous book. This is another story from when they were young. The girls are now both young mothers.

Story 25 The Elephant and the Orange
I came across this story when i was researching another story, and thought it was too good to miss. It comes from the Port Fairy Gazette, 4 January 1907, and the story was entitled "The unselfish elephant." I have rewritten the story, but the facts are all true.

Story 26 Smoky the War Dog
Smoky was a cute, intelligent hero from the Second World War. She was a Yorkshire Terrier and became a famous war dog who died in 1957. She weighed only 4 pounds (1.8 kg) and stood 7 inches (180 mm) tall.

Story 27 Empty Shopping Bags
Mick was Allan's step-father but a wonderful Dad and a devout, unassuming Christian, who witnessed to others through his Godly life.

Story 29 The Christmas Thief
This story happened to my sister while she was working as a community nurse in Sydney many years ago.
